THERE ARE SO MANY DOGS LOOKING FOR THEIR FOREVER HOMES, BUT UNTIL ONE COMES ALONG THEY NEED TO STAY IN A FOSTER HOME. COULD YOU FOSTER A RESCUE DOG?
Fostering is where you temporarily look after a dog in your home until they become adopted. Millions of unwanted dogs are put to sleep every year due to being abandoned by irresponsible owners, and ending up on death row in council pounds. By fostering a dog you provide another rescue space until the dog is rehomed permanently. Lately we have seen a huge increase in owners needing to relinquish their beloved dog due to ill health or sudden life changing circumstances. Turning any dog away is heartbreaking, so a good network of foster homes is essential. We now have owners having to place their dogs with us in foster while they are in hospital, homeless hostels and even prison until such time the can take their dog back. Without us providing this service many dogs end up never being able to see their loving owners again. If you are interested in providing a foster home for one of our rescue dogs, please complete the application form and one of our volunteers will respond within 72 hours to arrange a homecheck. What is a 'homecheck'A homecheck involves a visit to your home to discuss which dogs would be suitable for your family & environment. We will also do a home/garden check & give any necessary advice in support of your application. dogs needing foster |
